'St Mary's Farnham Royal Primary School is a GOOD school' Ofsetd 2015

We are a larger than the average, voluntary aided, Church of England Primary School, serving a diverse community. We are very proud of all our children and of our Christian values, which ensure they work and play together harmoniously.

Although we currently have over 320 children on roll and we are a two form entry school which insures our class sizes are small.  There are 25 children per class and most class teachers are also supported by a Learning Support Assistant. This enables us to know every child well and provide a happy, family orientated education.

The Year groups are then grouped into four Key Stages, led by experienced senior teachers:

  • Early Years Foundation Stage – Nursery & Reception
  • Key Stage 1 – Years 1 & 2
  • Lower Key Stage 2 – Years 3 & 4
  • Upper Key Stage 2 – Years 5 & 6

We currently do have a few places available in some year groups, so if you are interested in visiting our school to find out more we would be very happy to show you around. Please get it touch with the school office to arrange an appointment.

Equality objectives – July 2015

What are we going to do to achieve this?

To continue to promote spiritual, moral, social and cultural development through all appropriate curricular opportunities, with particular reference to issues of equality and diversity and incorporating British Values through all opportunities

The New Creative Curriculum provides some opportunities for this throughout the foundation and links with core subjects.

Collective Worship, RE and PSCHE topics will also provide opportunities to promote SMSC development.

To reduce prejudice and increase understanding of equality through direct teaching across the curriculum

For our school particular foci will be made via Black History Month, Anti-bullying Week, and specifically themed Collective Worship incorporating equality.

To narrow the gaps between any underachievement or lack of progress of identified groups within the school.

SMT monitor the achievement of pupils across the school and track progress according to a range of groups including Gender, EAL pupils, Pupil Premium and SEN

To promote cultural development and understanding through a rich range of experiences both in and beyond the school

Topic based curriculum incorporating Cultural diversity.

Visits and visitors

Celebrating and learning about festivals and celebrations of those in other countries and/or cultures.

To continually consider how well the school ensures equality of opportunities for all its pupils
