You can read any book; however, you may like to read:

  • Running on Empty by S. E. Durrant
  • The Boy at the Back of the Class by Onjali Q Rauf
  • Holes by Louis Sachar
  • The Percy Jackson collection by Rick Riordan

Science

This week in science we are learning about the lungs and how they work. Work your way through the Power Point carrying out any activities you need to. Your main task involves your whole family carrying out an experiment to test lung capacity. You will need a balloon each. If you do not have balloons at home you can still predict what will happen and write what factors would change and which you would keep the same to make the test a fair one.

Enjoy the experiment!

Activity 4 - Assertiveness quiz

Try our quiz to find out what assertiveness is all about.

Remember - we're not born being assertive! Some people might be naturally more assertive than others but it's a skill that we can all develop and improve. Assertiveness helps us to get our needs met without ignoring the needs of other people.

PE

We all know how important it is to keep moving and exercise regularly.  We know how hard that is at the moment but we don't want you to stop moving for too long so here is a list of websites you can use to get your heart pumping, your body moving and your brain working.  You don't have to do them all every day; you only have to choose one.

Don't forget  Joe Wicks on Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Please send us some pictures of how you are keeping active at home - you could be riding your bike, hula hooping, jumping on the trampoline or simply doing something from one of the web links below.  Whatever it is you are doing, we would love to see it.

ART

In Art this week you will be creating a natural piece of Art by using the Hapa-Zome Japaneese style of printing. This involves using a hammer or heavy object that you may have at home, such as a rolling pin,  to extract dye from leaves and petals.

THIS LESSON MUST BE DONE UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION.

Don't forget to send us your completed art work.
