Topic:
WALT: understand the ancient Egyptian social hierarchy
In topic we are now turning to the history of Ancient Egypt. Over the next 2 weeks we would like you to look at the hierarchy of Ancient Egypt and the Pharaohs who ruled the lands.
This week I would like you to use the slides, websites and videos to investigate and discover the social hierarchy of Egypt and create your own hierarchy model.
Science:
WALT: to create and plan an investigation
Over the next two weeks we will finish our work on sound and begin to look more specifically at the ear and how we hear. I thought it would be fun to end this part of our learning with you creating and carrying out your own investigation. Our ears are very delicate and need protecting, especially from loud sounds such as planes and drills. This is especially true if you work in airports or in construction. It is important therefore to find the best material for blocking out sound and that is the investigation I would like you to plan and carry out. Use the slides and planning sheets to help you.
RE:
WALT: to understand self-discipline
This term we will be looking at Lent, its importance to Christians and links to Easter. A big part of Lent is self-discipline. This week we would like you to look at the slides and think about when your have had to use self-discipline and why it is important to achieve tasks.
Art/DT Resources:
WALT: to analyse and discuss Egyptian Jewelry
The Ancient Egyptians were incredible artists and creators of fine jewelry. They used all resources and precious stones available to them.
This half term, you will be looking at, analysing, designing and hopefully creating your own Egyptian jewelry.
This week we would like you to look at the images and the videos and analyse and discuss the jewelry you see.
Music:
WALTL identify rhythms in songs
This week I would like you to listen to the song and clap out the rhythm and the beat.
PE:
We all know being active is really important but even more so during these times. It can be very easy to just stay cozy on the sofa
Try to do a little exercise or movement each day and let us know how you're getting on!
Below are some video ideas but you may have another suggestion you would like to share!
PSHE:
PSHE and Well-Being:
Looking after ourselves should always be a priority but even more so in these challenging times. If we don't look after ourselves how can we look after those we love the most and those around us?
Over the coming weeks take some time to enjoy some activities with your family. Many of the home learning tasks are designed to be done with others and this is a great opportunity to spend some time learning together and enjoying each others' company.
Below are a few activities designed with well-being in mind.
As with any of the other work, please send us pictures or a few words in an email explaining what you did. Remember, documenting these activities is not the main focus so please don't feel pressured to remember to take pictures just enjoy the time you spend doing the activity.
If you wish to complete the PSHE activities we would have been doing in class, there is a document below for you to have a look at.
This week we would like you to look at the terms discrimination and diversity and how they effect us and our society.
