Welcome to Year 5!
Welcome to the final term of Year 5! During the first half term, we will be looking at the first book in the Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events series; A Bad Beginning. After half term, we will be looking at Kensuke's Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. For Guided Reading, we will be looking at The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. In Maths, we will be continuing looking at decimals, and then will be studying Properties of Shape, Position and Direction, Converting Units and Volume. Our Science lessons will focus on Living Things and Their Habitats and Changing States. In Topic we will be improving our map reading skills and compass point understanding along with the historical study of Windsor and the surrounding area in the second half of the term. We hope this to be an exciting and productive term and we thankyou for all your support last term and know you will continue that support now both with the work your children are doing in school and with their home learning, reading and spellings.
