Year 5 Attenborough & Hawking Classes

Welcome to Year 5!

Hello all and we hope you had an amazing Easter and are looking forward to a great final term in Year 5. We have many incredible things to look forward to in this final term. Remember, learning is cyclical and needs to be continued at home. We need your support, especially with homework, reading, spelling and multiplication tables and ensuring your children are present as much as possible.

Year 5 this year consists of:

5FC (Attenborough Class) : Miss Clayton, Mr Farmer and Mrs Hay

5C (Hawking Class) : Mr Copete and Mrs Hay.

PE days:

Our PE days this year are on a Monday and Wednesday

We have many amazing things we are studying this term including reading the fantastic books 'Anne Frank's diary' and 'Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief'. In history we are looking at the ancient Greek civilisation and the children have already made some incredible home learning on this over the holiday. I

In RE we will be looking at what inspires us and in art and DT we will be investigating structures and making our own Greek temples.

We are hoping to re-organise a trip to Burnham Grammar for Years 5 and 6 to experience a science in a secondary school setting and a wonderful trip to Lego land where we will be using our skills learned in computing to practice coding. ( as well as maybe go on a ride or two )
